eBay The King Seiko is the flagship of the Seiko range along with the Grand Seiko. It is feature packed. This 1970 example presents very beautifully and represents a timeless, classical design. It is excellent, near mint condition and is all original except the strap. The very sophisticated 5626 movement out featured just about all other movements available at the time. Let’s go over the features: At 4.35 mm thick, it was slimmer than the Omega and the Rolex It has a beat rate of 28,800BPH compared to Omega, 19,800BPH and Rolex 21,600BPH It has hacking feaure. Omega didn’t. It has a monocoque (one piece case). Rolex didn’t, some Omegas did. It has a mineral crystal glass. Omega and Rolex had accrylic glasses. And, best of all, it has the ability to calibrate the time keeping externally without removing the movement from the case. (explained below) Looking at the pen-ultimate photo, you see a screw between the lugs at 6. This is actualy a plug. Once removed, another screw is revealed. By turning this screw, one way or the other, the owner can adjust the time keeping. I don’t know of any other watch that features this function. The 5626 is 1n pristine condition, has been professionally overhauled/serviced and performs faultlessly. The case features the gold “KS” medallion, is in great condition with only light patina. It has been lightly re-polished. Included is the presentation box, photographed. Rare, distinctive, feature packed, original except the bracelet and in near mint condition; Ticks all the boxes for the serious collector. So I have started adding a photo of the movement, disassembled ready to go through the cleaning machine. All old dried up lubricants, crud and anything else that shouldn’t be there is cleaned away.
