Presenting a Fabulous, Rare and Never Used Vintage Brass Minaudière with Goldtone Mesh Handle Flapjack PRODUCTION similar items are also called Vanity Nécéssaire or Purse PLEASE SEE ALL PHOTO – I maxed the eBay quota of 24 per auction but if you ask me for more I can send them via ‘Contact Seller” Item was produced in either Austria or Germany in 1930s but without the exact year I can’t be sure. The exterior top and bottom have been decorated with very detailed drawings of underwater scenes with large variety of fauna and flora like koi and golden fish swimming between seaweeds and variety of sea shells on the bottom. The Interior lids over the rouge and powder have details from the same exterior underwater scenes artwork. I have seen similar artwork on a smaller Flapjack PRODUCTION Minaudière to be described as “goldtone chinoiserie design” but I don’t have an art degree so use that additional description with “grain of salt” Classic 1930s Art Deco Minaudière interior has space and compartments for all your needs. · In the original felt bag and never used!· Nice beveled mirror set into the lid· Place for a few cigarettes (short, non-filter type) · Small Portmone (for few folded up bills or coins)· Small comb· place for rouge (“Für Ihr Rouge”) · place for face powder with original screen and puff which reads Flapjack PRODUCTION· place for tiny vial of perfume· place for lipstick· All lids are nicely hinged and close securely. · Minaudière measures: 125x80x20 mm (5″ x 3 1/8” and is about 3/4″ thick)· Mesh handle length is 170 mm and handle drop is 70 mm· Inside at the bottom of the powder compartment you can see the original handwritten price label “1800 лв” (keep in mind that in 1930s dinner for two in medium level Bulgarian restaurant was under 50 лв!)
